4]YES, DISTRIBUTE IT
Permission is granted by JUMPDISK, publisher of Bunny, and by David M.
Cole, author of Bunny, to freely distribute, upload and/or republish the
files comprising the contents of the Bunny drawer, so long as all the files
are kept together within the iconed drawer labeled: Bunny. Winners will be
determined by checking answers against the version of Bunny published in the
May 1990 JUMPDISK.
This program was written to run correctly on a standard Amiga with a
minimum of 512K memory. JUMPDISK will not guarantee the program will run on
Amigas which have been modified beyond standard configuration. For example,
the program may not work when some mouse accelerators are being used.
JUMPDISK will take no responsibility for potential entrants' inability
to produce the required answer printout.
Only JUMPDISK is making this offer of prizes. No responsibility for
prizes is assumed by the author, nor by anyone else who may make these
files available to potential entrants.
4]HOW TO PLAY
First, let's cover the very simple rules of play:
In the BUNNY drawer is an icon labeled Bunny. Double-click on it to
load the program. The playfield appears and the game may then be played.
There are pulldown menus that will become visible when you put the
mouse pointer at the top left of the screen, depress the right mouse button
and move the mouse pointer downward. These menus allow you to restart the
game and quit.
The object is to push the eggs to cover the dots in the northeast
section of the playfield, around the bunny's eye.
Push an egg with the egg-pusher by using the cursor keys.
Use the menu to start over or quit.
Total number of cursor pushes is displayed.
A printout of the clicks can be made by pressing the F10 key. It is
this printout which forms the basis of your entry. The F10 print option will
not work until at least TWO eggs are placed over dots. Before pressing F10,
be sure your printer is ready.
4]PRINTING TIP
Because Printer Preferences are given varied settings by varied Amiga
users, JUMPDISK takes no responsiblity for a potential entrant's inability
to produce the answer printout. To ensure that you have a viable printer
setting, work at the puzzle until you have at least two eggs in their home
positions, on any of the 16 dots surrounding the bunny's eyes, and then
press the F10 key to ensure that your printer will indeed print the answer
string. If not, all we can suggest is changing the Printer Preferences until
you happen on the correct setting. In JUMPDISK testing, the answer string
was printed correctly with Printer Preferences set for GENERIC.
4]THE RULES
To enter this contest:
1. Solve the puzzle or as much of it as you can solve.
2. Press the F10 key on your keyboard to print out the answer string.
3. At the top of the sheet of paper containing your answer string,
legibly PRINT or TYPE your name, address, city, state, and ZIP or postal
code.
4. Mail your entry answer sheet to:
6] JUMPDISK Bunny
6] 1493 Mt. View Ave.
6] Chico, CA 95926 U.S.A.
5. To be eligible for a prize, an entry must be postmarked no later
than Friday, August 31, 1990.
6. One person may enter more than once.
7. Only one prize will be given to a specific entrant. Only one prize
will be given to a winner at a specific address.
8. Neither JUMPDISK nor the program's author will answer any questions
regarding the contest.
9. This contest is open to anyone except JUMPDISK editors, contributing
editors, the program author, and members of their families.
10. Decision of the judges will be final.
4]JUDGING
Winners will be determined in the following ways, either singly or
in combination, and listed by importance:
1. Total number of eggs taken to their ending positions.
2. Fewest number of moves.
3. Postmark date of entry.
4. Random drawing.
As explanation, here are some hypothetical results:
-- 12 eggs beats 11 eggs, no matter how many moves the 12-egg solution
takes.
-- 10 eggs in 7,999 moves beats 10 eggs in 8,000 moves.
-- Nine eggs in 5,000 moves postmarked July 5 beats nine eggs in 5,000
moves postmarked July 6.
-- Tying entries subject to prizes (identical number of eggs, number of
moves and same postmark date) will be determined by random drawing.
4]AND WHO ARE WE?
And if you're reading this anywhere except in the May 1990 issue of
JUMPDISK, you well might wonder what a JUMPDISK is.
JUMPDISK is the original magazine on disk for the Amiga. Its first
issue was published in August 1986. It has been published every month
since then -- on time and without fail. This material is from the 46th
consecutive monthly issue. Every issue contains a guaranteed 10 premiere
programs (the May issue has 17) -- plus tutorials, news, articles, images
and a few surprises.
